GETTYSBURG, PA: The board of directors has appointed David A. Frey of Reading Township as the new Zone 9 director beginning Jan. 1, 2021. Frey replaces Dan Eisenhart, who resigned in June 2020. Following zone realignment in September, Zone 9 now encompasses parts of Adams, Cumberland and York counties.
Frey is semi-retired after a career as president/CEO of POSTMARK Credit Union (a cooperative) in Harrisburg. He previously served Adams Electric as a member-volunteer on the Member Advisory Committee and Credentials & Election Committee and is a current member of the East Berlin Lions Club. Frey, his wife, Karen and their daughter, Alexa, have resided in East Berlin since 2001.
Nine directors sit on the Adams’ board, and must meet all qualifications set forth in the co-op’s bylaws. The board is responsible for setting rates, governance of the cooperative and policy requirements. Frey was appointed according to the bylaw requirements of the cooperative and will serve out the unexpired two-year term of Eisenhart. Then, in 2023, the zone 9 seat will go back to an open election. Candidate applications and petitions were accepted and reviewed by the board prior to Frey’s appointment.
