Adams Electric Directors renew leadership certificates
Three Adams Electric Cooperative directors recently renewed national leadership credentials, representing the completion of advanced training to help them deal with the challenges of governing a modern electric distribution cooperative.
Nadine Hubner of Felton (York County), Tom Knaub of Wellsville (York County) and S. Eugene Herritt of Shippensburg (Cumberland County) have renewed gold level leadership credentials with the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA). NRECA provides special training to help electric cooperative directors understand their roles and responsibilities and stay up-to-date on the key issues and trends in the industry.
“This training helps prepare our directors to meet the challenges facing electric cooperatives now, and in the future,” says Steve Rasmussen, Adams Electric CEO/general manager. “We are proud of their accomplishments and their commitment to serving our members in south central Pennsylvania.”
Adams Electric directors are required to complete obtain a Credentialed Cooperative Director certificate from NRECA within three years of being elected and are also encouraged to obtain the Board Leadership Certificate and the Director Gold Credential from NRECA. The gold credential must be renewed periodically with continuing education credits. Directors are elected by their fellow co-op members to guide the cooperative, set policy, and establish rates and fees.
